Can you imagine the journey it took to reach this destination of forgiveness:

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. (Genesis 50:20)

The basic facts about his life are easy to learn–and worthwhile! But imagine the inner journey he had to take in order to arrive in a place so peaceful that he was able to forgive a bitter and terrible betrayal.

Impressed upon me at this reading was the long number of years it took for his forgiveness to be expressed.

Forgiveness isn’t easy, it also isn’t optional.
